Sealife
Oak Class visited the Sealife Centre in London this week to build on what they have been learning in Science about animals. The students were immaculately behaved and very excited!
At school, Oak class have been finding out about different habitats and what animals need to survive. They learnt what extinct and endangered mean, and they were very interested in reading the information boards at the centre which reinforced what they had been learning about in class.
The trip provided a valuable opportunity for students to develop their life skills. It included travelling on public transport, navigating from school to London, following a schedule, identifying how much money they could spend and what they could afford to buy in the gift shop.
Walking along the River Thames to the centre, students enjoyed seeing some of London's best known sites - Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye.
