Day out at Bocketts Farm

Our Foundation pupils enjoyed a fantastic day at Bocketts Farm, where they encountered a wide variety of animals.

The trip provided a perfect setting to enhance their social interactions, personal development, confidence, communication, language, and gross motor skills. Engaging in group activities such as feeding animals and participating in farm tours fostered cooperative play and turn-taking. Each child was supported as they explored various farm areas and tried new activities, boosting their curiosity and confidence.

They were thrilled to see farmyard favourites such as horses, cows, and alpacas, as well as smaller animals like fluffy rabbits and chinchillas. The children even had the chance to feed some hungry goats and sheep. During an animal encounter session, they got hands-on with chickens and guinea pigs, feeling their soft feathers and fur.

The fun continued on the play equipment, where they climbed, slid, and explored before setting off on a breezy trailer ride around the farm. One of the highlights of the day was the exciting pig race - everyone cheered on their favourites while waving flags, and in the end, Hugh Grunt took the win!

It was a wonderful day filled with smiles, fresh air, and new animal friends. By the time we returned, everyone was a little tired but excited to share stories about their farm adventures!
